What is the Study of Teen Experiences that Promote Success (STEPS)?

We are seeking teenagers between the ages of 13 and 15 and their parents for a novel research opportunity!

The goal of our research is to understand how family economic circumstances affect adolescent functioning. Our research is headquartered at the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with a second site at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.

If eligible, parents and teenagers will be asked to complete a Zoom interview together. Beginning the following month, parents and their teenagers will each be asked to complete a survey once every 4 months. Altogether, there will be 7 surveys to complete over a period of 2 years.
